Folsom has a growing diverse performing arts scene. From national touring plays and headliners, to small venues and outdoor concerts, you’ll find great entertainment options here in Folsom. Our largest venue is Harris Center, on the campus of Folsom Lake College. Originally called “Three Stages,” this elegant facility consists of three different theaters; the 850-seat Stage 1, with state of the art sound and lighting, not a bad seat in the house. The 200-seat City Studio for smaller productions, and a 100 intimate hall, perfect for recitals.
For something completely different, there’s nothing like the Sutter Street Theater. Located in a 125 year old building in Folsom’s Historic District, here you’ll find locally produced productions of classic plays and musicals, using local actors. It’s an unforgettable experience. The Zittel Family Amphitheater is an outdoor venue located in the Historic District. From about April through September, the amphitheater is busy with concerts and occasionally, plays. Other events scheduled during winter, weather permitting. See below for upcoming shows and concerts.

Emmy Award winning comedienne Vicki Lawrence is one of the most beloved television personalities of her generation. Plucked out of total obscurity as a high school senior, Vicki went on to become part of the now-legendary cast of “The Carol Burnett Show.”
In the seventh season, and hundreds of hilarious sketches later, at the ripe, old age of 24, Vicki created her most endearing character to date, Thelma Harper, or “Mama” as she is better known to her fans. After the Burnett Show, Vicki went on to star in “Mama’s Family,” which consistently topped the ratings for its entire six-year run of original shows.
The unprecedented ratings for the “Carol Burnett Showstopper Special,” which delighted more than 50 million viewers, convinced Ms. Lawrence that the time is right to take Mama out of the closet, dust off her sensible shoes, and hit the road with her new touring production. Vicki Lawrence and Mama: A Two-Woman Show, “is a mixture of stand-up comedy, music, and my observations about real life,” she explains. All the while she approaches everything with her characteristic sense of humor, reminding us all that “Life is much too serious to be taken seriously!”
On stage Vicki has appeared in numerous productions, including Carousel, Send Me No Flowers, No, No, Nanette, Chapter Two, Hello Dolly, I’m Getting My Act Together and Taking It on The Road, Annie Get Your Gun, and live from the Grand Ole Opry, Nunsense 3: The Jamboree, which aired on TNN.
The multi-talented entertainer is mostly known for her acting and comedic talents, but she also earned a gold record for the 1973 hit, “The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia.”

Rob Schneider is an accomplished actor, comedian, screenwriter and director. A stand-up comic and veteran of the award-winning NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live, Schneider has gone on to a successful career in films, television and continues his word-wide standup tour.
Schneider’s first Netflix comedy special, “Asian Momma, Mexican Kids,” premiered globally on August 11, 2020. Filmed in February, the special gives viewers a look at Schneider’s family and personal life through hilarious anecdotes. The special ends with a surprise duet performance with Schneider’s daughter Elle King.
Born in San Francisco, Schneider’s family is of Filipino and Caucasian descent. His father was Jewish and his mother Catholic. His mixed background has been a common theme in his comedy acts. Schneider started his stand-up career in high school opening for the popular San Francisco band “Head On,” and was a regular guest on local radio. An opening slot for Dennis Miller garnered him an appearance on the HBO’s “13th Annual Young Comedians” special also hosted by Miller. The special led him to a coveted position as a writer for SNL in 1988. Schneider swiftly moved from a writer and featured player to a full cast member with a cast that included Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, David Spade and the late Chris Farley.
After leaving SNL in 1994 Schneider went to roles in film and television including a starring role in the NBC sitcom “Men Behaving Badly,” and starring roles in the feature films DEUCE BIGALOW: MALE GIGOLO, THE ANIMAL, THE HOT CHICK, DEUCE BIGALOW:EUROPEAN GIGALOW and THE BENCHWARMERS. DEUCE BIGALOW: MALE GIGOLO has the distinction of being the second highest grossing DVD in the US in 2000.
Schneider’s early film roles also include JUDGE DREDD, DEMOLITION MAN, BEVERLY HILLS HILLBILLIES and DOWN PERISCOPE. He also co-starred in numerous comedies that were some of the biggest films in the past twenty years, including GROWNUPS, THE WATERBOY, LITTLE NICKY, THE LONGEST YARD, 50 FIRST DATES, I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU CHUCK AND LARRY, YOU DON’T MESS WITH THE ZOHAN, and narrated the animated film 8 CRAZY NIGHTS. He also recently appeared in Netflix’s THE WRONG MISSY and the recently released HUBIE HALLOWEEN.
On television Schneider starred in the CBS comedy “Rob,” loosely based on his real life. In 2015 he produced, directed and starred in “Real Rob,” that followed his life and co-starred his real-life wife Patricia and daughter Miranda for Netflix. “Real Rob” was a milestone for the comedian as he starred, directed, produced and financed the entire season.
Schneider’s directorial debut was the comedy BIG STAN, in which he also starred in the title role. In 2010 he released his first comedy album, “Registered Offender,” a collection of audio sketches and songs. That year Schneider also revived his stand-up career with an international tour and has continued to tour nationally and internationally ever since.
Schneider is currently co-starring in Netflix’s “Home Team,” starring Kevin James and is embarking on his stand-up comedy tour throughout the summer. In addition, Schneider recently completed production on the film “Daddy Daughter Trip,” which he produced, directed and starred in.
The three-time Emmy nominated writer for SNL is having the best time of his life, enjoying raising his 7-and 3-year-old girls, Miranda and Madeline, with his wife Patricia. Schneider is also the father of singer/songwriter Elle King.

Jennifer Hayes, Aquatic Biologist & Photojournalist
Explore a hidden universe through the eyes of the photographic team of David Doubilet and his underwater partner Jennifer Hayes. David Doubilet is one of the most prolific living photographers at National Geographic magazine and jokes that he’s spent more of his waking hours underwater than on dry land. His wife Jennifer Hayes is an aquatic biologist and a globally published photojournalist. Join them on a visual journey of their National Geographic assignments to three unique marine environments.
Kimbe Bay, Papua New Guinea, is a corner of the coral triangle that also includes the Philippines and Indonesia—and the center of the world in terms of marine biodiversity. Discover an unspoiled wilderness of water crowded with layers of life: from fingernail-sized pygmy seahorses to 60-foot tall towers of barracudas. Then, journey south to the cold ice filled waters of Antarctica, where the team moves through and under the ice to capture images of the hidden world of the leopard seal, penguins, shipwrecks, as well as the sculptural beauty of icebergs. Finally, follow them north to Canada’s Gulf of St. Lawrence, an extraordinary world of whales, wolfish, salmon—and the harp seal, a remarkable creature fighting to survive in a world of shrinking sea ice.
Go beyond the published story with Doubilet and Hayes as they share never-before-seen images from their assignments. Discover the reality of life behind the camera—from parasites to harp seal bites—as they share their adventures working to get the best shot.

This family musical contains a zany, wisecracking Mirror who will only answer if spoken to in rhyme, as well as a whole court full of funny and bubbling characters. It hums with 14 lively songs, including a scary forest ballet. Snow White runs away from the evil Queen and seeks refuge with seven little miners. But the Queen and her sister, a once-powerful witch, need “a locket from the pocket of a princess that is pure.”

In a Berlin nightclub, as the 1920’s draw to a close, a garish Master of Ceremonies welcomes the audience and assures them they will forget all their troubles at the Cabaret. With the Emcee’s bawdy songs as wry commentary, Cabaret explores the dark, heady, and tumultuous life of Berlin’s natives and expatriates as Germany slowly yields to the emerging Third Reich. Cliff, a young American writer newly arrived in Berlin, is immediately taken with English singer Sally Bowles. Meanwhile, Fräulein Schneider, proprietor of Cliff and Sally’s boarding house, tentatively begins a romance with Herr Schultz, a mild-mannered fruit seller who happens to be Jewish. Musical numbers include “Willkommen,” “Cabaret,” “Don’t Tell Mama” and “Two Ladies.”

Formed in 2007, The Boxmasters have recorded an impressive and diverse catalogue of music that touches on their love of a wide array of influences, but most importantly, the rock and roll of the 1960’s. Listening to The Boxmasters, one can hear obvious odes to the Beatles, Byrds and Beach Boys, but also important to The Boxmasters are The Mothers of Invention, Kris Kristofferson, John Prine and Big Star.
Since forming The Boxmasters, several long-time friends have contributed to the sound of the band, but the core of The Boxmasters has always been Andrew and Thornton. As primary songwriters, the sound of the Boxmasters has been an evolution as the duo constantly strive to find new inspiration, new sounds and new ways of expressing what is in their hearts and on their minds. But at the core, there is a backbeat, a lyric with meaning and music played with emotion.
As a touring band, The Boxmasters have cultivated a rabid cult fanbase across the United States and Canada. Opening for the likes of ZZ Top, Steve Miller, George Thorogood and Kid Rock The Boxmasters have proven to win over large audiences. As a headliner, frequent stops in Kansas City at “Knuckleheads”, Springfield, Illinois at “Boondocks” and “Merrimack Hall” in Huntsville, Alabama have shown dedicated yet still growing audiences. Two appearances at
Levon Helm’s “Midnight Ramble” in Woodstock, New York were highlight performances for the band, as well as the “Ramble at The Ryman” that Levon hosted in 2008. The Boxmasters performed on “The Grand Ole Opry” in 2015, another in a growing resume of must-play venues.
