4 Choice Suggestions to Show Love to Moms
Mother’s Day weekend is here and it’s the perfect opportunity to shower Mom with love and create some lasting memories. Lucky for us in the Folsom and El Dorado Hills area, we’ve got some fantastic options to wine, dine, and even dance the weekend away with the special woman in your life. Let’s dive into some fun ideas!
Option 1: Historic Folsom Celebration
Start your Mother’s Day weekend with a touch of history and riverside charm in Folsom’s historic district.
Saturday:
Take a stroll down Sutter Street and visting the local shops, and make your way to the Folsom Farmer’s Market, where this Saturday, moms will be greeted with complimentary flowers! Sample local produce and artisan treats, and check out the clothing and jewelry vendors, too. From there, treat Mom to lunch with a stunning view at Crawdads on the River. In the evening, stick around for the annual Light up the Dark music festival, featuring multiple bands playing under the stars at the Zittel Family Amphitheater from 5 PM to 9 PM. The perfect way to unwind and groove with Mom.
Sunday:
Continue the celebration with a special Mother’s Day brunch at Scott’s Seafood Roundhouse. Indulge in their special brunch menu and enjoy the elegant atmosphere. To round off the weekend with some fun, head over to Powerhouse Pub for their Sunday afternoon blues. Let Mom tap her feet and maybe even “shake her money maker” to some fantastic live blues music!
Option 2: Palladio’s Sophistication
For a more contemporary and vibrant Mother’s Day experience, head to the upscale Palladio shopping and entertainment center.
Saturday:
Treat Mom to a well-deserved shopping spree at Palladio’s wide range of boutiques and stores. Let her browse to her heart’s content and maybe even pick out a special treat. As the day winds down, grab a bite and a glass at Back Bistro on their beautiful covered patio. To add to the ambiance, B-Side will be providing live music from 6 PM to 9 PM.
Sunday:
Start Sunday with a delicious brunch at the ever-popular Friends with Benedicts. With a wide range of creative and classic benedict options, there’s something to please every palate. Alternatively, Back Bistro will also be featuring a special Mother’s Day menu for brunch. To complete the day, stick around Palladio and catch a movie at the comfortable Palladio 16 or Luxe theater.
Option 3: El Dorado Hills Town Center Fun
Explore the El Dorado Hills Town Center for a blend of art, dining, and lively entertainment.
Saturday:
Begin your Saturday by dropping in on the artist reception at the Atrium Gallery, featuring works by local artists. For lunch, take your pick of the fantastic waterside restaurants, including the newest location of Mikuni Sushi. Later check out the Tastings at Town Center event, where you can sample various bites and libations at participating local shops and restaurants – a fun way to explore the Town Center’s offerings.
Sunday:
Start Mom’s Sunday with a delightful brunch at Mimosa House, known for its extensive mimosa selection and delicious breakfast options. For a lovely lunch, head over to Selland’s Market-Cafe and enjoy their high-quality, seasonal dishes. To cap off the weekend with some energetic fun, get ready to dance to the 80’s grooves played by the ever-popular Spazmatics! Check the El Dorado Hills Town Center event schedule for their performance time.
Option 4: A Scenic Wine Country Escape
For a more relaxed and picturesque Mother’s Day, consider a delightful day trip to the nearby wine country, less than an hour from Folsom.
Explore the charming wineries of the Apple Hill region, where you’ll find several gems clustered together, including Crystal Basin Cellars, Baumgarner Winery, and Findleton Estate Winery. Another fantastic option is Nello Olivo, which shares its building and patio with Hwy 50 Brewing Co. Here, you can enjoy wine tasting, craft beers, a full kitchen, and live music on the patio.
Alternatively, head to the Pleasant Valley area, home to two of the region’s best: Holly’s Hill, which will be serving their legendary Paella on both Saturday and Sunday, and right next door, Sierra Vista, offering breathtaking views of the snow-capped Sierras and live music by Patrick Walsh on Saturday.
No matter which option you choose, the Folsom and El Dorado Hills area offers a wealth of ways to create a memorable and special Mother’s Day weekend. Cheers to all the amazing moms out there! We wouldn’t be here without you! Happy Mother’s Day (May 11th, 2025)!
