Spring is a great time to visit the foothill wineries! Buds are breaking, flowers blooming, the weather is warming up, and you can sip great wine while looking over across hillsides and valley vineyards.

There are about 200 wineries near Folsom or within a short drive, large and small, and each with a different vibe

And while many of the individual wineries have special events going throughout the year, now is the time when the regions get their wineries together for big festivals. These events give visitors the opportunity visit multiple wineries for one price, in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Discover new wines, visit places you’ve never been before and enjoy the hospitality of these some of the best and friendliest winemakers in California.

Whether you’re a newbie or a seasoned pro, these events offer something for everyone.

Visitors enjoying good times at Passport Weekend

Amador Vinters’ Behind the Cellar Door March 23 – 24 – Enjoy a weekend touring vineyards, meeting the winemakers and tasting a wide variety of varietals in this award-winning wine region.

Placer Wine Trail Sip into Spring April 6 – 7 – The Placer Wine Trail stretches from Loomis to Auburn and beyond, and features some very fun and unique wineries. Live music, food trucks, special treats and more await you on this fun event.

Holly’s Hill is a favorite in the Pleasant Valley area

El Dorado County – Passport Weekend April 20 – 21 – Now in it’s 33rd year, the El Dorado Passport gets you into over 20 diferent wineries from Apple Hill to Pleasant Valley.

Steiner Road Spring into Zin  Apr 27, 2024 The wineries of Steiner Road in Amador County will be showcasing a selection of their wines with a focus on Zinfandel. Selections include old vines, new releases, unique blends, and barrel tasting, paired with small bites.
