Folsom Spring Fair, Kayak Cleanup, Great Music and Wine this Weekend

Spring is arguably the most beautiful time of year in Folsom and the surrounding area.  Green rolling hills, wildflowers blooming, trees filling out, and the lakes are at healthy levels.

It’s a great time to get outside and enjoy the great weather, and have take part in some fun.  Here are some great things to do in Folsom this weekend

A Little Wine and Song

Head up the hill to enjoy some of El Dorado County’s amazing wineries during their Passport to the Great Out There (formerly Passport Weekend). 20 Wineries, delectable food pairings, art, live music and more awaits you as you explore some of the best wineries in the region. Happening Saturday and Sunday. Tickets and more here

Having fun and giving back.

Saturday, April 22, is Earth Day, and there are several events and activities around the region to celebrate, learn and give back.

One such event is FOLFAN (Friends of Lakes Folsom and Natoma)’s Lake Natoma Kayak Kleanup. Volunteers in kayaks and on foot will be cleaning up Lake Natoma and the surrounding land and trails. It’s a great way to give back to this great community, help preserve on of Folsom’s best features, and meet new people. If you don’t have your own kayak, the Cal State Aquatic center will loan you one for free, on a first-come first-served basis. Sign up here and choose the kayak add-on.

Stroll Folsom’s Historic District

Check out over 200 artisans and vendors at the 54th annual Folsom Spring Arts and Crafts Fair.  You’ll find musicians, food booths, and face painting, as well as Folsom Historic District merchants and restaurants at this popular event. Parking is available in the garage on Leidesdorff for a donation of $2, or better yet, ride in on light rail for free.

Powerhouse Pub continues their Sunday “Powerhouse of Blues’ Series with fiery blues rocker Dennis Jones and his band. This dynamic singer guitarist puts on a great show, and has become a Folsom favorite. Get your tickets now!

Check out some Open Houses

And of course, I wouldn’t be doing my job as one of Folsom’s best Realtors if I didn’t include the fact that more inventory is slowly coming to the market, and there are about a dozen open houses this weekend. Go check ’em out, and let me know if you see one you just gotta have.

Get out there!
