Folsom Holiday Happenings – Something for Everyone

The Holiday season is here, and Folsom’s got lots of great events to keep you in the spirit.

Here’s the run-down on some of my favorites.

Folsom Tree Lighting, Friday Nov 30 in the Historic District – I love this event. It makes our city of about 75,000 people seem like a small town.  Wagon rides, live music, ice skating, and a visit from the big man himself, the one and only Santa! Official lighting a 730.

Folsom Zoo

Wild Nights and Holiday Lights at the Zoo – Come see an enchanted forest of over 50 lit and decorated trees, thousands of lights all over the Zoo Sanctuary, a unique opportunity to see the zoo animals after dark, and a chance to ride the miniature Starlight Express train! More info and schedule here

craft fair

Sutter Street Annual Christmas Craft Fair is happening Sunday, the 2nd.  51 years running, this open air market is free to attend, and features over 200 vendors. A family favorite for unique gifts. More info here

chanukah

Do you wanna build a… menorah? You can at the annual Chanukah Festival at the Folsom Community Center.  Games, face painting, music, and a food court featuring Israeli food. Admission is free (not the food and games!)  Check it out

tater tot crawl

Tots for Toys Tater Tot Crawl is an event whereby if you bring a new unwrapped toy to participating restaurants, you get a free order of Tater Tots! Happening Saturday Dec 8th. Details and list of participating restaurants here

naughty crawl

Stick around after the Tots for Toys for an adults only Naughty Santa Crawl.  You’ll see Santa’s, elves, and more, and you’ll definitely find out who’s on the naughty list. 5 participating bars, starting at 7pm on the 8th.

There are more events throughout the month. Check out www.visitfolsom.com for their event calendar, and check out the lineup at www.harriscenter.net. They will be having a Nat King Cole Christmas as well as a Big Band Christmas and more.

These are but a few reasons why Folsom has such great community spirit and quality of life.

Be safe out there and have a Happy Holiday Season!
