Brace Yourselves for a Super-Soaker Storm

It’s been called ‘Super-Soaker’, ‘Pineapple Express’ and technically, an ‘Atmospheric River’.  Whatever you want to call it, it’s gonna rain pretty hard over the next few days.

Atmospheric rivers are actually concentrated bands of wind picking up large amounts of water vapor, sometimes as much as a hurricane, and historically, have been responsible for some of the state’s worst weather related damage.

Rain estimates for the next few days range from 2 to 6 inches in some areas, beginning tonight and ending Monday.

The National Weather Service has issued an advisory warning of extended periods of wind gusts, from 10am Friday to 7am Saturday with gusts up to 45mph in the valley to over 70mph in the mountains.

So, tied down your loose stuff and roll up your windows, ’cause it’s going to be wet and windy.

Be safe out there.
