3 (sort of) New Mexican Dining Options Coming Soon to Sutter Street

When an electrical fire shut the iconic Hacienda del Rio Mexican restaurant in March, it left Sutter Street without any Mexican restaurants.

Fear not, for help is on the way! There will soon be 3 of them.

Hacienda will be re-opening in about 3 months, according to manager ‘Tom’, who said they will come back stronger and better than ever. Hacienda is legendary for their rooftop deck and with beautiful views and great margaritas.

Q’bole, celebrating their 10th year in Folsom, will be moving this Summer from their current location at 705 Gold Lake to 718 Sutter, upstairs at the site of the former Balcony Bistro, next to Lockdown Brewing Company. Q’bole features the cuisines of various regions in Mexico in a beautiful setting.

Lastly, Rosario Rodriguez will soon realize her dream of owning her own restaurant when she opens the Sutter Street Taqueria this summer, at 727 Sutter, in the space previously occupied by the Karma Cafe. She promises a casual ‘San Francisco Mission District’ style taqueria featuring family recipes handed down through generations.

So, whether you’ll have a hankerin’ for a margarita on the deck, a romantic dinner for 2, or grabbing a burrito to go, you’ll soon find it all on Historic Sutter Street.
