Emma’s Place Finds a Home

When travelling south on Lake Natoma Crossing, many saw off to the right and old, boarded up house on stilts, and asked what it was. It is Emma’s Place, the only 19th-century house still in Folsom north of Sutter Street. It has been a brothel, a school house, a dance school, and a bar. It finally has a permanent foundation on Reading Street, and can begin its restoration. Full Story
