“Trust Us”

The State of California is asking Folsom and every other city in the state do do just that – “trust them”. The State of California is trying to figure out some creative accounting to pass this year’s budget, and part of it is taking 1/2 cent of local sales taxes and paying the cities back through property tax revenue. Trouble is, Folsom is expecting $8.6 million more in sales tax than the state is proposing. Needless to say, the city is completely opposed to the tax swap. More in the Bee.
