Doolittle & Matsui Come to Agreement
Reaching the conclusion that Auburn Dam is politically impossible, Representatives John Doolittle and Robert Matsui have come to an agreement over water management. Doolittle agreed to go forward supporting a $250 million raise of Folsom Dam, so long as it also included comparable water supply improvements in Placer & El Dorado Counties. This decade-old issue seems to be drawing near an end, as Doolittle & Matsui are both very influential in Congress and it is hoped they will be able to create enough support for the project. More is in the Bee.
