Dam Road Closure Costing City $500,000 a Year
Now that people have started settling in on old habits, the closure of the Dam Road is starting to hit the city financially. Folsom is now paying $10,000 more a week in police and traffic control, not to mention the impact on small businesses. Traffic on alternate routes are up 75%, and a 36% raise in accidents. The city is looking at a traffic consulting firm to see if they can find ways to alleviate these issues, but until another bridge is built, it is likely that Folsomites will have to endure a lot of traffic during peak commute hours. More is in the Bee.
