Folsom Aims to Draw More Tourism
A newly-formed business improvement district aims to draw more weekend visitors to Folsom. The city has little problems drawing business travelers during the week, however its goal is to draw more weekend crowds, either via direct tourism, or travelers to/from the Lake Tahoe area. A 2% room tax will be added to existing hotel bills to help aid this effort, drawing more than $160,000 in its first year of implementation. More in Sunday’s Sacramento Bee.
